If your in Bo Phut’s walking street and are wanting some awesome seafood make your way to, Barracuda @ The Wharf. It’s near the beach so you still get that beach side holiday atmosphere. The restaurant itself is modern and very spacious with a slant on Mediterranean style seafood using local produce. Come here for an intimate night out or bring the whole family for some really top cuisine.

Right on the beach, which makes for a perfect setting Takho Bangpo is one of those Samui restaurants that is both affordable and at the same time will serve you an array of top quality dishes that both locals and tourists love. This place is seriously popular. Because this is a favourite among locals you can be assured to find some really exotic dishes that you won’t find anywhere else. So be prepared to be surprised and come with an open mind. Anyone for wasp larvae or even the tasty horse crab salad with mango. If that’s not your thing then don’t stress, there is still the usual seafood coconut curry and  a variety of satays to tempt the pallet.

Like with  all popular Samui establishments best to get here early, get a table, start with some icy cold beers and work your way through the entres. we have been here before and can tell you that the  crunchy fried fish is well worth the wait for a table.

# 4 TOP seafood restaurant in Samui is Krua Chao Baan

If there is one thing Samui is famous for then it’s the great seafood restaurants on the beach. The setting is simply gorgeous for a romantic dinner for 2 while watching the sunset and enjoying the tropical ambiance. There are so many of these types of restaurants dottting the beach but one in particular is well worth a visit and that is Krua Chao Baan.

The interiors are spacious which is perfect if you are coming to Samui with a large family /group and need a large table. The menu covers off Western food nicely but you really should come here for all the Thai seafood dishes such as the red snapper, freshly caught with ginger and chilli. The staff are on hand to serve you heaps of local fresh coconut juice if the chillis becomes too hot.

More often than not the hard to find restaurants are often the best and Kob Thai is no exception. It’s about 500 metres from the beach so make sure you ask some locals how to get here OR even better grab a tuk tuk.

Once you enter the restaurant you will immediately relax as there is lots of room to dine either the open air part or by the pool – people also come here for the very relaxed and chilled vibe.
Browsing the menu and you will see an array of traditional Thai dishes like the famous Tom Yum soup and green fish curry. Finish off the meal with some sticky white coconut rice with mango – YUMMY!

All of the restaurants above offer a very relaxed and casual dining experience. But, if you want to step it up a notch and dine out in a chic upmarket restaurant then the Red Snapper Restaurant & Bar is perfect. You can dine in doors in the air conditioned part or go al fresco and dine on the terrace while enjoying the night time warm air. Everything comes together quite nicely with world class cuisine, friendly attentive staff, the overall ambiance and the entertainment as well.

I don’t know about you but I enjoy tucking into some road side food stall as much as dining out in a 5 star restaurant. There is something for the foodies in us all about the quick n cheap incredibly tasty dishes that are served piping hot at really cheap prices. This is where the majority of Koh Samui visitors end up and it’s what we recommend as a  must visit place. These stalls are charming and regardless of how they serve the food to you, one thing is for certain, the freshness and the Thai flavours are going to be authentic.

Samui has so many walking streets where you can spend the evening strolling up and down tasting delicacies from each stall. It’s like degustation on-the-go where you get to try a little bit of everything. Try grilled prawns freshly cooked on open air BBQ’s or perhaps a grilled fish with lime and coriander sauce cooked quickly over hot coals.
